About Us

Hey! I'm Ashley.

I'm the owner, artist, maker, packer, shipper, customer service department, and occasional late-night order finisher behind FARMHOUSE598.

My family and I live in a little cottage in Niagara, Ontario that functions more like a farmhouse, complete with a hobby farm, muddy boots, busy kids, and projects always on the go. It's where many of the ideas for FARMHOUSE598 begin.

This business started back in 2015 when I was creating wreaths and handmade crafts to help fund our fertility treatments. Years later, after my son was born in 2017, my husband and I purchased a laser. What began as a creative outlet during my journey through postpartum depression slowly grew into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

Today, FARMHOUSE598 is built around creating meaningful keepsakes that help families celebrate life's most important moments.

As a fourth-generation woodworker, craftsmanship runs deep in my roots. While I do all of the design and production myself, I proudly carry on a family tradition of creating things meant to last. I work from my home studio in Fenwick and from a woodworking shop in Wainfleet, where I share space with my husband's family business.

The truth is, I don't just make signs, ornaments, and gifts.

I make the name sign that hangs in a nursery while parents count down the days until they meet their baby. I make the recipe board that preserves Grandma's handwriting long after the recipe card has faded.

I make keepsakes that become part of your family's story.

One of my favorite things about this business is imagining where these pieces will end up. A newborn announcement sign tucked safely into a baby book. A Christmas ornament carefully unwrapped year after year. A handwritten recipe displayed proudly in a kitchen where new memories are being made.

Long after the order leaves my workshop, it becomes part of someone's life.

When I'm not creating, you'll usually find me with my three children. My oldest, my son, is endlessly curious, loves sea creatures, and announces "I have a business idea..." at least once a week. My daughter is the first granddaughter in the family and knows it. And my youngest spends many days alongside me in the workshop, helping pack orders and learning what it means to grow up watching her mom build a business.

Outside of FARMHOUSE598, I coach my son's baseball team and serve as a Director with our local Agricultural Society because community is something that's incredibly important to me.

More than anything, I hope my creations bring joy.

There's something special about seeing your baby's name written out for the very first time. About holding a keepsake that captures a moment you never want to forget. About gifting something that means more because it was made specifically for someone you love.

Thank you for being here, for supporting my small business, and for allowing me to play a small role in some of life's sweetest moments.

I'm so glad you're here.

Ashley
